Visit Yarm this Christmas!

Yarmy the elf competition

The competition is open to all, excluding staff or co-chairs of Yarm Business Forum.

How it works

To be in with a chance of entering into the prize draw, you must “like” the individual Yarmy post on the Facebook Page of Visit Yarm and comment underneath or post a picture in the comments. There will be 18 posts in total, running 6th Dec – 23rd Dec. Only one answer per person will be counted as an entry, no multiple entries per day, although you can comment or submit photos as many times as you wish, your name will only be included in the draw once.

The draw

Up to 5 Participating businesses will be chosen at random on 23rd December, and all comments from those post will be placed in the hat on 24th for the live draw. Anyone that has answered the Yarmy question, linked to that business on their featured day, with a relevant comment or relevant photograph, will be placed in the hat for the draw on the 24th. Yarm Business Forum reserves the right to remove any posts where content is deemed unsuitable.

The winners (1st and two runners up) will be drawn live at the Carols on the Cobbles event on Christmas Eve. If the winner is present, they will need to verify with ID, or show their Facebook profile on their phone, to receive their prize. If they are not present, then they will be contacted via Facebook and the prize will be available for collection after 6th January 2020. The Carols on the Cobbles host will have the gifts ready to giveaway on stage and the winner must be happy to have their photograph take for publicity purposes to be used on Visit Yarm social media sites or within local press.

The Prize

We have 18 donated gifts from High Street business and they will be divided up accordingly

1st prize will be 8 donated gifts per businesses.

Two runner up prizes will each receive 5 gifts each.

Gifts vary in value, the decision of Yarm Business Forum is final as to which gifts are allocated to which prize, however the sum total of the 1st prize will be of a greater value than the runners up. Some businesses have donated a single item, others a selection of items. A “Gift” is the combination of whatever the business has put together, whether one item or many.

Any prizes not collected on the evening by winners, will be available for collection after 6th January 2020 by contacting sara.fellows@stockton.gov.uk.
